Speed isn't about rushing or being sloppy; it’s about efficiency. At our sister studio, The Blooming Rose, we train our artists to hit the 2-hour mark for any full set whether it's volume, classic, or hybrid. Here is how we do it.

1. Hand Angles Dictate Lash Pickup

Watch yourself lashing. Do you pick up a lash, look at it, throw it away, and try to find a "better" one? That hesitation costs you seconds on every single lash. Over 200 lashes, that adds up to 20 minutes!

• The Fix: 

  Start with high-quality trays that fan like butter. At Luxom Lash, our trays undergo rigorous quality checks to ensure every strip is 100% usable—meaning no more wasted time picking through duds.

  Once you have the right tools, focus on your mechanics. Pay close attention to your hand placement and tweezer grip. Remember: where you pick up the extension dictates your wrist angle. Adjusting your pickup point is the secret to achieving a flawless attachment to the natural lash without straining your wrist."

2. Your Glue is Too Slow

If you are holding an isolation for 3-4 seconds waiting for your glue to dry, you are wasting time.

• The Fix: Upgrade to a 0.5-1 second adhesive (like our Hidden Gem Adhesive). Trust your hands. Place the lash and move on. If you are isolating faster than your glue cures, you will get "stickies" and slow yourself down separating them later.

3. Setup is Everything

Your tile, your glue, and the client's lashes should be in a straight line. If you are twisting your torso to grab glue, you are losing time and hurting your back. Keep your Luxom Palette right next to the client’s head. Minimizing hand travel distance saves massive amounts of time.

4. Tape is Your Lash Partner in Crime

Many new lash artists view tape as an obstacle they would rather avoid, but the truth is, tape is your ultimate speed hack. Mastering your taping technique can actually cut your lashing time in half!

Don't just use tape to secure bottom lashes—use it to your advantage throughout the service. Tape allows you to manipulate the eyelid to correct angles, stretch the skin to fan out crowded natural lashes, and expose those hard-to-reach inner corners. When you use the 'tape back' method, you instantly clear the way, making it easier to spot and isolate natural lashes that haven't been lashed yet.

Challenge Yourself

Next appointment, set a timer. Try to beat your "Classic" time by 10 minutes just by focusing on faster isolation and zero hesitation. By continuously practicing this way, you build muscle memory which is one of the hugest things in lash artistry!
